The Most Played Variations of Texas Hold 'em

Crazy Pineapple

So the most poker players will probably tell you that the Crazy Pineapple is one of the most played variations of Hold’em. Well the brief rules are the same as in traditional Texas Hold’em except the fact that each player is dealt three hole cards instead of two as in original version. The third card must be discarded after the flop. This variation can be played both with fixed limits and with no limits, depending on the players’ preferences. The highest hand wins here.

Omaha Hold’em

In this variation each player is dealt four cards instead of two and the rest of the game is the same as in Texas Hold’em. Thus, the most exiting side of it is that each player can make a hand with only two out of his four cards plus three out of 5 community cards. The one whose hand is the highest – wins the pot. Though there are at least two variations of Omaha Hold’em: high-low and high. In hi-lo version, a player with the lowest hand and the player with the highest hand has the same chances to take the pot, or if both of them are in the same deal they will split the pot 50/50.

Irish Hold'em

This variant of poker is similar to the Omaha variant, where all the players are dealt 4 cards. The distinctive feature is that each player has to discard two of his four cards before the turn.

Blind Man’s Bluff

This game is rather exciting and fun as each player is dealt two hole cards and is not allowed to look at them. The other players though can see each other cards, but cannot see their own. They can bet considering only the opponents’ cards, but not their own. The rest of the rules are the same as in Texas Hold’em. The highest hand wins the pot.

Double Flop

The game’s rules are mostly determined by its name. Each player is dealt two hole cards and allowed to view them. But the dealer deals two sets of 5 community cards that mean that each player can choose which board appeals to him the most and create the best hand using any of two boards. The highest hand wins here as well.

Tahoe

In Tahoe Poker each player is dealt three cards and can use only two of them to create a good hand with three out of 5 community cards at the table. The rest of the rules are the same as in original Hold’em. The highest hand wins here.

We’ve described the most interesting and popular Texas Hold 'em Variations, though it doesn’t mean that these are the only one played. However we wish you good luck in playing any kind of poker and do not forget to enjoy the bluffing!
